Rally-O is a fun, interactive sport which means you are going around a "course" which is made up of different exercises that you and your dog do.
For instance, you could be asked to have your dog sit, lie down, and sit again before moving on to the next "station" which might be an about turn. Anyone who has done competitive obedience is usually familiar with the doodling exercises we use in training - basically rally builds on these and puts them into a course. You are allowed to talk to your dog throughout the course, and may even use food in some organizations.
I first learned about Rally in December 2006 when I attended a CKC Rally seminar and I was thoroughly enthused with this new game! Since then I have even become a CKC Rally judge which I love.
Bronte has since earned her CKC Rally Novice and Rally Advanced and CARO Rally Novice. Owen earned his CKC Rally Novice title in August, his RA and RE and is working on legs for his RAE. He also finished his CARO Novice and Advanced titles in six straight runs Bowie has his CARO Novice and has started CKC as well.
